State/Prov.: VA Website: www.returnengagements.net Marital Status: Divorced No. of Children: 2 Graduation Year: 1972 Number of grandchildren: 0 What is your best memory from Kecoughtan?: There are so many wonderful memories of Kecoughtan. We had some great teachers, who made positive impacts on students'lives. It was a time when everything was "new" - new friends, starting to drive, going to school concerts, exciting crushes and beginning to date. We became more aware of the world - Vietnam, Equal Rights, etc. I remember working at the bookstore and selling more Certs than pencils (Mrs. Evans was a wonderful boss!). I remember environmental protesting when a mature tree was being cut down to build the new annex. Kecoughtan, in itself, is one of my life's greatest memories. What have you been doing the last few decades?: After graduation, I worked for Virginia National Bank until it became Bank of America. I left the bank in 2000 to buy my own business, Return Engagements. This is an antique and consignment gallery. I also have another business in which I work with executors, attorneys, bank trust departments and individuals who are handling estate liquidation. I married fellow classmate, Mike Barroso in 1976 and have two daughters, Elizabeth and Carrie. Both followed in their father's footsteps and are in the education field. Sadly, in 2005, Mike and I divorced. I will always have wonderful memories of our high school sweetheart days at KHS |
